Dear Redbird Student-Athletes and Families,
FALL REDBIRD ATHLETICS UPDATE
I hope this letter finds you all safe and healthy. You have just begun to enjoy your summer, but I am sure that many of you are wondering about Fall 2020 athletics at Dwight Common School.
Unfortunately, I am unable to give you a firm answer on the status of fall sports. We are still awaiting further guidance from the State of Illinois and the IESA as to whether we will be able to proceed with extra-curricular activities.
In the meantime, we need to proceed and prepare for these sports by getting the registration components completed in hopes that our seasons will begin normally. Currently, only students in 6th-8th grade can register for baseball or softball. If roster spots remain open, 5th graders may be allowed to try-out.
If you already have an account, you will use the same one. If you are new to 8 to 18, you will create an account. You must complete the 8 to 18 Registration process by the following deadlines:
SOFTBALL DEADLINE = JULY 24TH TRYOUTS/PRACTICES BEGIN = JULY 27TH
BASEBALL DEADLINE = JULY 31ST TRYOUTS/PRACTICES BEGIN = AUG. 3RD
Registration is completed via the website below; you cannot register through the APP. You can download the APP for scheduling information (games/practices).

Current Physical Required
In addition to registration, each student must have a current physical on file in the office before they may participate. Sports Physicals day at DTHS has been set for July 21st with more information to come on scheduling an appointment. Students entering 6th grade require a more complete physical which can be used for the sports physical as well.
Athletic and/or Activity fees are not paid during school registration. These fees are as follows and should be paid to Dwight Common School. These can be sent to the office or paid at the pre-season parent/athlete meeting:
One child/one sport or activity: $30
One child two or more sports/activities: $60
Multiple children in two or more sports/activities: $90
