DTHS Scholastic Bowl team 2nd at Porta Invitational
The Dwight High School Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Petersburg for the PORTA Class A tournament on January 26. Dwight was undefeated in the preliminary rounds with victories over Riverton (340-70), Auburn (200-160), Williamsville (160-90), Springfield Lutheran (260-120), and Athens (180-140). Championship round matches saw the Trojans pick up wins over Pleasant Plains (240-170), Warrensburg-Latham (200-190), and Southwestern HS (200-180) to advance to the championship match where they lost to downstate powerhouse Carlinville 170-200 in a back and forth match.
David Reamer led the team in scoring with a total of 67 tossup questions and was named to the all-tournament team as the second highest scorer in the 20 team field. Mary McClarey and Riley Van Der Karr each tallied 5 tossups and Steven Mann had 1.
The Trojans moved to 37-11 for the year.
