DTHS Announces Illinois State Scholars

Dwight Township High School Principal Dan Kaiser is pleased to announce that 10 Dwight Township High School students from the graduating class of 2018 have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state agency committed to helping to make college accessible and affordable for Illinois families, bestows this prestigious recognition to top Illinois high school students annually.  This year, nearly 19,000 elite honorees join the other top state students honored for their academic achievements since the designation was first introduced in 1958.

Illinois State Scholars possess strong academic potential and are chosen based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT scores and sixth semester class rank.  State Scholars rank in approximately the top ten percent of high school seniors, representing 652 high schools across the state.

Illinois State Scholars from Dwight Township High School for 2018 are: Konnor Dyer, Jillian Frauli, Abigail Houch, Mason Imhoff, Daniel Muller, Nikhil Patel, Hayley Schlabowske, Scott Schultz, Logan Widman and Morgan Zabel.

Congratulations to all of this year’s Illinois State Scholars.

Edwards and Muller Named Wendy's Heisman School Winners

There are some students who set the bar.  They work harder, show more passion and lead by example - in the classroom, on the field and within the community.  Wendy's High School Heisman recently recognized Abigail Edwards and Daniel Muller from Dwight Township High School as School Winners for the Class of 2018.

These students are known by their teachers and friends for their commitment to excellence.  We are excited and honored that a program like Wendy's High School Heisman is also recognizing their hard work, said Mr. Dan Kaiser, Principal at Dwight Township High School.

Since 1994, Wendy's and the Heisman Trophy Trust have been running the same play to perfection: honoring more than 600,000 of the nation's most esteemed students.  School Winners will receive a School Winner certificate and a Wendy's High School Heisman patch.  Abigail participates in softball  and Daniel participates in Cross Country and Track.

Abigail is the daughter of Dan and Rachel Edwards and Daniel is the son of Dennis and Elizabeth Muller.
