Scholarship Applications

Below you will find the Scholarships that are available to the class of 2017. Students should check the criteria to see if they qualify to apply. If applications are available online, there will be a direct link to that website. If there are no links, hard copies will be available in the guidance office. The documents posted below have been created using Adobe Acrobat as forms. You can type your information into the form and print the form, but the information typed into the documents cannot be saved, it can only be printed. Hagan Scholarship

Graduating Senior in 2017

Must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average and at least a 23 or higher on the ACT.

Must enroll in the four year college or university in the fall following their high school graduation 

Must work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to the start of each academic year of college

Must complete the FAFSA in 2016 using 2015 tax information and EFT must be less than $7,500.

GE-Raegan Foundation Scholarship
  • demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
  • demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
  • be citizens of the United States of America;
  • be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
  • plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.
Approximately20 students nationwide will receive $10,000 renewable scholarships up to $40,000 per recipient. January 5, 2017

Johnny "Och" Rygh Scholarship
  • High school graduate seeking continued education at an accredited college or university
  • Student activities, financial need and freedom from the use of drugs and alcohol will be considered in awarding this scholarship
  • Applicants need NOT be a recent high school graduate
  • Recipient must be a resident of PTHS or DTHS School Districts

Ronald McDonald House Charities U.S. Scholarship
  • Be a high school senior
  • Be younger than 21 years old
  • Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school with a full course of study
  • Be a legal U.S. resident
  • Live in a participating RMHC Chapter's geographic area
  • Submit a complete application and all required documentation by the deadline of the application
  • Meet any additional eligibility requirements outlined by each scholarship program
  • Provide verification of enrollment each year at respective accredited post-secondary institution

20 different scholarships offered to children or grandchildren of U.S. Veterans or Active Duty

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation High School Senior Scholarship

Scholarships awarded to top high school senior science students

Students must be able to show: outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular /employment activities and community involvement

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Monsanto Fund Scholarship Applicants do not need to be FFA members. Applicants must: live in an Eligible County; be under the age of 23; be high school seniors (public, private or homeschool) or full-time college students (minimum of 12 credit hours); have at least a 2.5 GPA at the time of application; agree to these Terms and Conditions; and meet any and all other eligibility requirements set out on the FFA Website.  In addition, applicants must be pursuing or intending to pursue higher education in an agriculture-related field of study from a two- or four-year program or trade school and specializing in one of the eligible fields of study listed below.

Livingston County Farm Bureau Foundation Hoerner Scholarship Applicants can be high school seniors and continuing college students from Livingston County Scholarships worth up to $1500. February 24, 2017 Applications available at http://www.livcfb.org/
Livingston County Elite Scholarship Applicants must be a continuing college student from LIvingston County. 1 - $2000 Scholarship will be awarded Febraury 24, 2017 Current college students will fill out the Hoerner Scholarship application at http://www.livcb.org  and a winner will be chosen from those applications.
Illinois Odd Fellow - Rebekah Scholarship Applicants must be from Illinois and wish to attend a post-secondary school or an accredited vocational or technical school and have maintained at last a C average in high school.  Scholarships will be awarded based on need, scholastic standing and ability. Number and amount of scholarships to be determined Applications should be postmarked no later than February 28, 2017 Applications are available at www.ioof-il.org.  Go to the forms area across the top of the sight to reach the scholarship application.
Dwight Football Fanatics Scholarship Applicants must be a DTHS or GSW senior in good standing who has played football his junior and senior year in high school and who plans to continue his education after high school. 1 - $500 Scholarship  March 1, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office at DTHS.
Streator Onized Credit Union Member Scholarship Applicants must be a member in good standing at the credit union and be or become a primary member by April 1, 2017.  Student must be enrolled or will be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college, university or trade school. Applicant must have a 2.0 GPA and if they have previously received a SOCU Member scholarship, they MAY NOT reapply. 5 - $500 Scholarships and 3 - $250.00 Scholarships Applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2017 Applications are available outside the DTHS Guidance Office
Chesebro/Cushman/ Kyser Scholarship Applicants must be 2017 graduates of a Livingston County High school or current full-time college students who graduated from a Livingston County HIgh School.   Multiple generous scholarships are awarded of varying amounts

Martin Scholarship Applicants must be a high school graduate from who lives within the Odell Fire Protection District, Odell Library District or Odell Grade School District.  Students must plan to continue their education at an accredited college or university in either liberal arts, music, nursing, business or engineering. Applicants need not be a recent high school graduate. Multiple scholarships ranging from $500 to $5000. Applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2017 Applications are available outside the DTHS Guidance Office.
Illinois PTA Scholarship High school graduating seniors who have at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll in a college or university program in education or an education related field (Librarian, Instructional Media Specialists, School Nurse, School Psychologist or Social Worker)

Dean Ritter Trust for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Graduating high school seniors from Illinois who has a significant hearing loss in one or both ears. Multiple scholarships ranging from $1000-$8000 in value Application deadline is March 17, 2017 Applications are available outside the DTHS Guidance Office or at www.deanritter.org/2017-scholarship
Vermillion Player Theatre Scholarship Graduating high school senior pursuing a post-secondary education.  Applicant mus have been involved in a minimum of 2 Vermillion Players productions in the last four years in any capacity.  Must be an active member of theatre during high school. 4 scholarships with award amounts to be determined. Application deadline is April 17, 2017 Applications are available outside the DTHS Guidance Office.
Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association Education Foundational Scholarships Graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education in a lumber-related field of study Multiple scholarship ranging between $500 and $1000 scholarships will be awarded across the state. Application deadline is March 15, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office.
Nate Severson Family Scholarship Graduating high school senior pursuing a career in an Ag-related field.  Applicant should be an active member of the Dwight FFA and have a minimum gpa of at least a 2.5. Number and amount of scholarship to be determined Application deadline is March 31, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office.
Arvetta M. Lewis Scholarship Graduating high school senior from Ford or Livingston County who plans to attend the University of Illinois and major in an agricultural field Number and amount of scholarship to be determined Application deadline is May 1, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office
Illinois Sheriffs' Association Scholarship Illinois resident who plans to attend an institution of higher learning full-time during the school year of 2017-18.  100 - $500 scholarships will be awarded across the State of Illinois Application deadline is March 15, 2017 Applications are available online at www.ilsheriff.org and outside the guidance office
Dwight FFA Scholarship Graduating Dwight senior who has been involved in FFA for at least two year and who plans to continue their education after high school.  Preference will be given to those students who plan to pursue an degree in an agriculture related field. The number and amount of scholarship will be determined based on number of eligible applications and available funds. Application deadline is March 31, 2017 Applications are available from Mrs. Minnaert, Dwight Ag instructor and FFA sponsor and outside the guidance office.

Sammy Sartoris T-21 Friendship Foundation Scholarship #2 Graduating Livingston County Senior who plans to further their education after high school and enter a field of study that benefits those with Down Syndrome. Joliet Junior College Scholarships Graduating DTHS Seniors who plan to attend JJC in the Fall of 2017 Numerous scholarships of varying amounts are awarded Application deadline is April 1, 2017 Applications are available at www.jjc.edu/scholarships

Friends of Nate Severson Scholarship Graduating Senior from Dwight High School who is planning to pursue a career in an Ag-related field or plans to have a career in farming in the future.  Applicant should be an active member of Dwight FFA, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be enrolling in a 2 or 4 year school or trade school. 1 - $1000 Scholarship Application deadline is April 1, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office
Livingston County Home and Community Education Association Scholarship Graduating high school senior, home school student in Livingston County or a past graduate of a Livingston County High School who is pursuing an education in Family and Consumer Sciences or related fields.  Student must be enrolled full time in an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university 1 - $1000 Scholarship Application deadline is May 31, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office at DTHS.

Dwight Woman's Club Scholarship 

Graduating 2017 high school graduate planning to continue their education at the collegiate level. Applicants must have a minimum GPA for 2.5.  

1 - $1000 Scholarship to a student planning to attend a 4-year university.  

1 - $1000 Scholarship to a student who is planning to attend a 2 year college or specialized vocational/tech school.

Application deadline is April 25, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office at DTHS.
Dwight VFW Auxiliary Financial Assistance Award Graduating high school senior who plans to continue their education, or any other student currently enrolled in college who is a local Veteran or member of a Veteran's family. 4 - $500 Financial assistance awards will be presented Application deadline is April 25, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office at DTHS.
Exelon Generation Scholarship Graduating Dwight Township High School senior who plans to further their education in a STEM career field. Preference will be given to those applicants pursuing an Engineering degree. 1 - $750 Scholarship award Application deadline is April 21, 2017 Applications are available outside the guidance office.
