Attention Dwight Public School Students and Families:
Due to recent positive test results reported by DPS staff members, Dwight Public Schools will be full remote starting Tuesday, October 13 through Friday, October 23. After consulting the Livingston County Health Department about CDC guidelines and COVID protocols, the decision was made that all DGS and DTHS students will remain at home for remote learning for the next two weeks, and they will return to school for in-person instruction on Monday, October 26, 2020.
Our number one priority is the safety of students and staff, and we have contacted individuals who have had contact with COVID positive staff members. Additionally, we are doing everything we can to offer full-time, in-person instruction as soon as possible. We are working diligently to ensure a safe return.
A few important details to consider:
Seniors will still report to the high school on Wednesday, October 14 to take the SAT as scheduled.
Students will NOT be expected to be online for remote learning on Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 as those dates are already designated as Teacher Planning Days. Students are encouraged to utilize those days to make up any missing assignments.
LACC students will report to their classes per usual, and transportation will be provided.
LCSSU/RAS classes will run during their normal days and times, and transportation will be provided.
After school extra-curricular activities will be held as scheduled. Coaches will communicate with athletes about specific details.
Faculty and staff will have the option to work from school or from home. Building access will only be allowed from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM.
The building will be closed to all students and guardians for the next two weeks.
Students will utilize Google Classroom as the preferred platform to access their classes and assignments.
PreK-4th Grade students will still be using paper/pencil activities when necessary and will be delivered to homes with meal deliveries on Wednesday, the 16th or Friday, the 21st.
October 13th, 3 days of meals
October 16th, 5 days of meals
October 21st, 5 days of meals
In these difficult times, we are each other’s greatest resource. Stay safe, everyone.
